I have no doubt that Lynx will eventually reverse engineer the HDX connection, but I think the Avid HD IO is the better way to go. I haven't missed the Aurora a single day since, and can honestly say the new Avid interface sounds amazing! To replace them both, I purchased the HD IO 16X16 and have to say that it made a huge difference. The Aurora was a great interface, and I used it for more than a few years, but I decided to unload it back in the summer along with my 192 IO. Until a few months ago, I myself was using a Lynx Aurora as the front end for my HD3 PCIe system. It's simply the fact that Lynx was able to reverse engineer the connection so well that we all forgot that it was never qualified. Avid has never qualified third party interfaces for connection to Protools HD. I'm done with these jokers. This is not old news. I'm staying where I am for now and seriously considering moving on to another DAW. They came out with pt 9 claiming to be compatible with everyone and everything and now 10 comes and they're trying to trap you into only using their interfaces.

HMM, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't there other 64 bit DAW's out there that can work with any interface.

Aside from many features not working with accel cards I was told that when pro tools goes 64 bit that my lynx interfaces will not work with it. I had an interesting conversation with a rep from CRAPID yesterday at aes.
